Wine Route and fish

The Wine Route and the Fish is a route long distance (GR38) joining the Rioja region to the coast of Biscay, along the Autonomous Community of Euskadi from south to north. Traditionally used to trade with local produce (wine, oil, etc.) With the products of the sea, and today is a tourist route that is being promoted by institutions. A first
this year we encourage the whole family to make this summer on foot, averaging about 22 km each day, and for that reserve a hotel and a plan to go completely using the car and my bike to make the links between stages.
But because of my health problems, we have finally gone but making shorter trips each day (between 10 and 18 km) around the towns where we stayed: Laguardia, Vitoria and Durango.
The trips have been mostly quite flat, except the last day, where we boarded the Anboto from Urkiola.
I recommend this route, on foot, or bike or car. It is a splendid opportunity to admire the different Euskadi landscapes and enjoy good food and fine wines.
